Physically inactive adults

This data shows the percentage of adults who are physically inactive in Buckinghamshire, the South East and England.

Physical inactivity is defined as engaging in less than 30 minutes of physical activity per week. In 2021/22 16.1% of adults in Buckinghamshire were physically inactive which was significantly lower than England (22.3%) and lower than the South East (18.8%). 

There is variation in rates of inactivity across Buckinghamshire, with higher rates in the more disadvantaged communities. The Council have developed an interactive ‘Community Board Dashboard’ which shows rates at a local level.
