About us

What is the Bucks Data Exchange?

The Bucks Data Exchange brings together data, resources and insight about the local area and its population. By taking a data-led approach, and sharing data, we aim to help Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations identify how to have the biggest impact and make better informed decisions.

The Bucks Data Exchange is a multi-agency collaborative effort from organisations who are passionate about data: Leap, The Rothschild Foundation, Buckinghamshire Council, Heart of Bucks, Buckinghamshire’s Local Enterprise Partnership and the Thames Valley Office for the Police and Crime CommissionerThe platform brings together data from key stakeholders across Buckinghamshire and combined with nationally published data, makes insights accessible for the voluntary sector, communities and local people.

Any information published clearly states which organisation uploaded it and where it came from. The data provided is intended to be for information only, and should you have any queries relating to accuracy and content, please contact the data source.

Why has the Bucks Data Exchange launched?

Local organisations hold a wealth of rich data that can inform decision making, but until now there has been no open-access public platform for bringing all this information together. The Bucks Data Exchange provides a home for this data, making it easier and simpler to access insights in one place. It opens up local and national data for social purpose organisations and encourages active citizenship from individuals and communities.

The Bucks Data Exchange helps to do this by:

  • Publishing Bucks datasets by topic, including benchmarks
  • Signposting to useful external resources
  • Publishing maps and signposting to interactive tools

What about Data Protection?

The Bucks Data Exchange is hosted by Leap, but data and insights are developed by all organisations in the partnership and by voluntary organisations in Buckinghamshire. All the organisations are subject to controls and data protection legislation.

The data and intelligence published on this website is primarily at a population level. We do not accept, analyse or publish personal or sensitive data.

We consider data protection in relation to all data  on this site. We will continue to seek advice from partners’ Data Protection Officers as well as data protection experts at Buckinghamshire Council as the site continues to develop.

Our Partners

The Bucks Data Exchange has six active partners who contribute funding, expertise, data and time-in-kind.

Our Governance

The Bucks Data Exchange website is maintained by Leap, on behalf of the project’s partners. The content has been developed collaboratively and the partners have oversight of key content and decision making.

Requests for updates should be made to the project manager, and will be considered collectively by the partners. If you have any questions, issues or complaints, please email the Bucks Data Exchange project manager, who will get back to you as soon as possible.
